Fooood, love it, I even love painting food. I got interested in Keto around a year ago but it was such a big diet change, that I kept it as a low-carb diet. I can see improvement already and that’s why I have kept following it. I still get cravings from time to time, so I have been looking for yummy recipes without lots of carbs, which takes me to keto cookbooks like this one:
Quick and Healthy Keto Zone Cookbook: The Holistic Lifestyle for Losing Weight, Increasing Energy, and Feeling Great

First of all, let me tell you that this is a book containing recipes that follow “Dr. Colbert’s Keto Zone”, which is a wellness program that includes a ketogenic diet.
This book is great for those who just decided to stop or slow down on the carbs and realized that almost everything they cook has copious amounts of sugar and flour. It has a lot of familiar recipes like “perfectly scrambled eggs” or meringues and some other intriguing ones like avocado ice cream. Recipes use simple or easy to find ingredients that you might even have at home already. This makes it a great choice when transitioning to a keto pantry and for those who panic if suddenly they cant eat anything that resembles what they are used to.
I was specially interested about the snack and dessert sections, and this book had great recipes to choose from. I tried the garlic flaxseed crackers with cucumber mint dip and they were super fast to make. I only needed one thing from the store, greek yogurt. The rest of ingredients i had at home. I’m looking forward to try the cheddar chips and sweet nut clusters. Also included are breakfast, lunch, dinner and “basic” with recipes such as bone broth, coconut cream, sauces and dressings.
I liked this book. It might be a little too simple at times (like, I don’t need a recipe for sunny side up eggs), but when trying a new diet, it’s nice to be reminded of those everyday recipes you can still enjoy. If you have had a keto or low carb diet for a while and want to expand your repertoire of recipes, be aware that you might find many of them familiar or too basic, but it’s worth checking it out.
*I got my copy from the publisher, that doesn’t affect my review.
“WHERE IS MY YUMMY FOOD PICTURE?! “, you might be asking… I actually took them, crackers and dip yummm… but silly me, in a “spring cleaning” mood, deleted all pictures from my camera before transferring to the computer. By the time I realized everything, dip and crackers were already in mah belly 😛
